Lead Service Line Information
The Springville Utility District is committed to ensuring the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure. In adherence to the requirements set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), we have completed a thorough investigation of our service lines.
We are pleased to report that our investigation has confirmed that none of our service lines contain lead. This conclusion is based on a comprehensive review of the recorded plans housed at our Utility District Office, which indicate that all lines were installed after 1988. The year 1986 marks the implementation of the national ban on lead pipes, ensuring that no lead-containing materials were used in our infrastructure. Tennessee adopted the national ban in 1988 after states were given time to implement their own legislation.
Our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of water safety remains unwavering, and we will continue to monitor and maintain our service lines to ensure they meet or exceed all regulatory requirements.
